Adriano Ciarla was born in Lucerne, Switzerland, in 1970. He initially trained as a wood restorer and carver in Avellino. He then went on to perfect his skills in ornamentation with the carver Mario Castaldi in Naples. As an auditor, he attended courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and specialised in sculpture at the ‘Selva di Val Gardena’ school in South Tyrol. In 2002, he held his first group exhibitions in Liguria, Sardinia and Umbria. His first solo exhibition was held in Geneva, Switzerland, in 2003, and in the same year he participated in an art symposium in Germany. Since then, he has participated in over 37 solo and group exhibitions and over 35 symposiums in numerous important cities in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, South Korea, Taiwan, Russia, Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, Tunisia, Belgium, Cyprus and Malta. He lives and works with marble in Carrara.
